SUMMARY:Computational Materials Science Postdoctoral Fellow
DESCRIPTION:Job Posting\n\nComputational Materials Science Postdoctoral Fe
 llow\n\n\n\nLawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL, https://www.lbl.gov/)
Applied Math and Computational Sciences Division has an opening for a Comp
utational Materials Science Postdoctoral Fellow to join the team.\n\nIn th
is exciting role, you will be responsible for research focused on developi
ng novel new algorithms and efficient HPC implementations in first princip
le electronic structure materials science and chemistry applications. The
developments will be focused in reduced-scaling methods for ground and exc
ited state approaches including the random-phase approximation (RPA), GW m
 ethod, and real-time time-dependent density functional theory (RT-TDDFT) w
ith physically tuned hybrid functionals. In addition, this position will c
ontribute to the development and/or advancement of open-source software to
ols. Involvement in the publication of the research and contributions at c
onferences is expected.\n\nThe position will be part of an integrated team
of computational materials scientists, chemists, physicists and HPC appli
cation developers that will design and deliver novel approaches, methodolo
gies, algorithms and software to tackle large scale ground and excited sta
te first principles materials simulations and scaling efforts to future le
 adership class HPC Exascale architectures.
