 uate School of Business seeks a Research Computing Information Systems Spe
 cialist or Research Computing System Administrator 3. You will be embedded
  within and report to the Stanford Research Computing Center (SRCC) team t
 o ensure GSB’s research computing environment serves as a competitive enab
 ler for researchers working with data and computation.  You will learn abo
 ut researcher needs, identify system shortcomings, solve technical problem
 s and design performant solutions for evolving research computing needs.  
 This role requires expert knowledge of research computing systems and work
 flows, as well as a savvy approach to delivering results in a large organi
 zation. \n \nDARC is a team of data enthusiasts that possess an insatiable
  curiosity for data, research and technology, bringing dedication to the w
 ork, and a commitment to growth and balance on the team. Expect to work wi
 th bright minds on challenging problems, continually evaluate emerging too
 ls, and apply new techniques in system administration and research computi
 ng.  As these technologies and research questions evolve, so will your rol
 e.\n\nResponsibilities include: \nPlan, deploy, tune and monitor storage s
 olutions on the GSB Linux cluster, attending to complex network topography
 , usage patterns and user experience.\nCoordinate with members of GSB and 
 Stanford Research Computing Center (SRCC) to design systems and review sys
 tem specifications.\nProvide leadership and solutions for complex research
  computing problems, striking a balance between cloud solutions, semi-priv
 ate on-premises systems and custom.\nEvaluate emerging software services a
 nd solutions through the specific lens of the GSB Research Community and S
 tanford’s current offerings.\nDevelop and automate operational workflows f
 or provisioning new users, data sets and machines.\nTroubleshoot highly co
 mplex problems for which the analysis and resolution require extensive kno
 wledge of diverse system components.\nDevelop long range technology plans 
 in service of the research taking place at the GSB.\nProvide project manag
 ement, coordination, and programming for systems and client facing researc
 h computing projects.
